With two of the best-known brands in retail, our Marketing Department plays a huge role in maintaining our enviable position at the forefront of the industry. Working closely with our Commercial teams, they operate across the full range of the marketing mix, providing the innovative insights and solutions that help drive our business. Within the department there are three distinct teams, each with its own particular focus.

Consumer & Market Insight

Analysing the performance and key drivers of our business and those of our competitors, this team are the eyes and ears of Home Retail Group . The market knowledge and consumer research they provide helps ensure the effectiveness of our strategic business decisions.

Brand

Having built a solid reputation for great value and superb customer service, our brands are amongst our most powerful assets. That's why ensuring we effectively utilise their potential is so important. This team is responsible for doing that through corporate branding, press and TV advertising campaigns, our store, catalogue and other promotional activities.

Product Marketing

Devising the strategies that drive our monthly promotions, this team oversees all local marketing activity as well as specific business development initiatives. This is where things differ slightly between Argos and Homebase. In Homebase, there’s a big requirement for POS plus of course the presentation of products within the stores is extremely important. In Argos, most marketing is delivered through the pages of the catalogue where it’s more about providing information and data.

The Marketing team at Homebase also looks after Spend & Save, our customer loyalty programme.
