Overseeing the accurate production and printing of our publications is no easy task. Particularly when you consider that each year we distribute over 30 million Argos catalogues alone. That said, our team does the job superbly every time. From design and photographic aspects of the project to final printing and logistics, they run the entire process.

More recently we have launched an Argos Home catalogue to showcase our extensive ranges in furniture and accessories. We have also started to apply this expertise to launch a catalogue offer for Homebase. That doesn’t even start taking into account the numerous brochures, leaflets and offer sheets for both internal and customer consumption.

We have won awards for Ideas, our inspirational lifestyle magazine from Homebase. Since its launch in 2002, it has picked up three Association of Publishers awards – ‘Launch of the Year’, ‘Customer Magazine of the Year’ and ‘Most Effective Consumer Publication (Retail)’. APA awards are recognised as the most important by the industry and to have won three reflects the quality of the publication. In 2006 our team was recognised by being shortlisted for ‘Internal Communications’ at the CIPR Excellence Awards and Homebase was recognised for services in Irish by the Irish Language Board at the Irish Dual Language Awards.

The team also manages our sample centre, a massive warehouse in Milton Keynes. For every product we sell, we ship in between seven and ten for our buyers to choose from. Once selected, they are photographed in our own studios or in specialist locations for the catalogue. The product images and descriptions are then stored in a shared database for online and traditional marketing campaigns.
