Keeping all of our stores running smoothly is critical to our continued success. When you add up both Argos and Homebase outlets, that’s over 1000 stores and we’re continuing to open more at a phenomenal rate. As any issue will undoubtedly have an impact on our customers' shopping experience, the importance of this area cannot be understated.

Their role is a broad one. They provide the support, services and equipment needed to ensure our stores deliver the ultimate shopping experience. They also act as an interface between the stores and all other areas of our business with regards to the planning and implementation of promotional activities and other initiatives.

But their role goes a lot further. Taking Homebase for instance, there’s a dedicated Store Format team which focuses on the continuing evolution of the look and feel of the stores. There’s also the Showroom team that manages the construction of the mezzanine levels where we showcase kitchen and bathroom settings. Plus there are two business specific teams that run our mystery shopper scheme. Just a few examples of how we make sure we’re always delivering precisely what our customers want.

All in all, they provide a truly comprehensive support service. Ensuring the stores are fully up to speed with all communications from head office, they form a vital link with the frontline of our business.
